Rihanna’s Greatest Hits
When she released her first album just about three years back a star was born in the world of music. Time and again Rihanna has reached out to her fans and entertained them, and kept them eagerly waiting for her next album. Fortunately for her fans the twenty year old singer has been releasing albums pretty close to each other. In 2005 she began her career with ‘Music of the Sun’ which received a fair amount of attention from the music world and she had die-hard fans all over the world. While a star was born in the world of pop, R&B, dancehall and reggae the ‘Rolling Stone’ gave it only 2 ? stars out of 5. But her fans weren’t complaining. Rihanna had thrilled her fans with ‘Pon de Replay’, which became #2 on the USA Billboards Hot 100. She followed it with her second single ‘If It’s Lovin’ That You Want’.
Her endorsement deals with Nike and J.C. Penney has only increased her popularity and fan following. ‘A Girl Like Me’, her second album came just eight months after she first album was released. ‘SOS’, Rihanna’s single from the album was used for an endorsement deal for Nike and has people dancing all across the world.
In 2007 Rihanna recorded her ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ album and ‘Umbrella’ the first single from the album was the No. 1 song in the UK for 10 consecutive weeks, a feat not too many artists can boast of. In fact the United World Chart placed ‘Umbrella’ as the most successful song of the year. And the hits just keeping on coming from the girl from Barbados. ‘Shut Up and Drive’ hit #15 on the Billboard Hot 50, while ‘Don’t Stop the Music’ was released in Canada, UK and some of the European nations and had the fans tapping and humming her tunes.
She has also worked on three singles with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake provides vocals for ‘Rehab’ and “Sell Me Candy’. At the World Music Awards she won the World's Best-Selling Pop Female Artist & Entertainer of the Year 2007 and also the Female Artist - Soul/R&B at the American Music Awards 2007. ‘Shut Up and Drive’ was voted best R&B song at the People’s Choice Award 2008. She has also been nominated for as many as six Grammy nominations, including for Song of the Year, Best R&B Song and Record of the Year.
Rihanna made her debut on the silver screen with a cameo role on ‘Bring It On: All or Nothing’, and has also appeared on the favorite sitcoms ‘All My Children’ and ‘Las Vegas’.
